I’m Cat Braithwaite, a 28-year-old designer and illustrator originally from El Paso, TX. I graduated in 2008 from The Art Institute of Phoenix with my bachelor’s degree in graphic design with an emphasis on print design and illustration. Post-grad, I’ve held positions as a production artist at the Phoenix New Times magazine, an in-house designer for an online music retailer and publishing company, and a freelance graphic artist. Aside from my creative endeavors, I enjoy checking out all types of live music and festivals, picking on my guitar or violin, whipping up tasty dishes in my Crock-Pot®, trying out new local restaurants, and craft beer/brandy/bourbon tasting. My optimistic, can-do attitude shines through in the enthusiasm I have for my work and supports positive relationships with my clients.
At present, I’m Assistant Art Director at Copper & Kings brandy distillery in Butchertown. I also freelance for the Louisville Music Co. as well as their affiliate companies Just For Brass, Just For Winds, and Potenza Music Publishing in Louisville, KY. In addition to my work, I’m proud to volunteer as the Communications Director on the board of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) Louisville chapter.
I’m available for freelance projects ranging from invitation and logo design to hand-lettered typography and portrait illustration. Thank you for your interest in my work!
